The following CSIA Standards Videos show the Skiing and Teaching Criteria for both the Level 1 and Level 2.
Level 1 is Acquisition (A) and Level 2 is Consolidation (C).
As you watch the skiing video look for the Acquisition and Consolidation icons indicating the difference between the skiers. Take some video of yourself and compare it to what you see here.
Am I Ready?
- Candidates should be able to ski parallel on a Blue (or Red) groomed run and control their speed and turn shape.
- Understand and show turning both legs at the same time starting when both skis are flat.
- Angulate for edge grip at and below the fall line.
- Candidates should have at least 40 days of recent skiing ( in the past or current season).
